Anton Pulvirenti is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans drawing, painting, murals, 3D illusions, cartoons, live art, visual minutes, and workshops. He also holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Sydney.
Anton first came to national attention when he was named ‘Champion Pavement Artist’ at the Chalk Urban Art Festival in Sydney (2007) and later received a ‘Highly Commended’ (2010). In 2012, he represented Australia at the 40th anniversary of the world’s most prestigious street painting festival, Incontro Nazionale dei Madonnari in Italy. His journey was documented in the SBS feature CHALK: An Australian Perspective (2014).
His work has been commissioned for festivals, corporate projects, and private events across Australia and internationally. Anton has been a feature artist at the Qatar Marine Festival in Doha, collaborated with Snoop Dogg, and even appeared in a Windows segment on ABC TV’s Play School. Alongside his artistic practice, Anton has also taught perspective and landscape drawing at the University of New South Wales.
While he is accomplished across many forms, Anton’s first love remains drawing. His intricate charcoal works and extraordinary 3D chalk illusions never fail to astonish audiences. Whether on the pavement, the gallery wall, or in a live performance, Anton has a gift for making art feel immediate, playful, and alive.
Anton is represented by Redsea Gallery and exhibits charcoal drawings regularly in Australia and abroad.
